A happy stay at Villa Pizzorusso will be a mix of the following –

At home. There is much to enjoy without leaving the peaceful setting and utilizing the amenities of the masseria and the surrounding countryside.

Cooking and meals. You can try your hand at regional specialties using the fully equipped kitchen and ancient wood-burning oven, or hire a cook to prepare typical Pugliese dishes. There is a large dining table for 14 in the great room, and dining areas in the interior courtyard and on the grand terrace. Cooking lessons can also be arranged.

Relaxing. The masseria has a number of distinct rooms, garden areas and terraces where you can relax with a book, enjoy conversation with friends, or spend some quiet time alone.

The Pool. The dramatic 25 x 4 meter swimming pool — open from mid-May to early October — is in the south end of the interior courtyard, next to the aranceto.  Chaise lounges, an outdoor shower, and a large grassy area make this an idyllic spot to spend many hours. Great for lap swimming or just splashing around.

Sport. There are miles and miles of country roads for walking, running or biking right out the front gate. Bicycle tours, with bikes and guides, can be arranged beginning at Pizzorusso. Tennis courts are available in Mesagne. Golf is one hour away at the gorgeous San Domenico 18-hole course in Fasano.

Italian Lessons. Private or group lessons can arranged in Mesagne, or right at Pizzorusso.  L’Acanto  http://www.lacanto.it/

The neighboring towns of Mesagne and Latiano (each 5 minutes away.) Both towns have their own wine and olive oil coops, butchers, bakeries, cheese shops (mozzarella and ricotta made on the premises daily), local fruit and vegetable vendors, open air markets, caffes, restaurants and any amenity needed. Mesagne, the larger of the towns with a population of 30,000, has a medieval castle, a charming old town accessible through ancient portals, and some Messapian ruins. Latiano, with 20,000 inhabitants, is more oriented toward farming and has an interesting farming museum as well as a historic center.
